Cheryl Cole Wants to be The British Britney Spears

Cheryl Cole is planning to launch a career as a solo artist — and she wants to be the British Britney Spears!

The Girls Aloud singer has hired the hitmaker behind one of Britney’s biggest tracks, Toxic, and will jet to Sweden and America this month to put the finishing touches to her first single.

Cole will even get to showcase her new music on The X Factor, the UK TV talent show she judges alongside Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue.

“She wants to be a pop star, not a TV star. She’s only committed to X Factor this year and doesn’t know if she’ll have time to do another one,” a source told British tabloid the News of The World.

“Her music is very different to Girls Aloud. It’s pop with an urban twist and the first single is incredible.

“There’s millions being pumped into the promotion, recording, photo shoots and music videos. The plan is to make her as huge as Britney and Madonna.”

Yeah, well... who doesn´t want to be like Britney (minus paparazzi)? ;)

Pink: ‘Britney Spears Shouldn’t Mime’

Pop punk Pink is furious that rival Britney Spears mimes during her performances.

The Sober hit maker is angry that Britney is lip-syncing to her hits on her Circus tour and has called on her to sing up for her fans.

“For me, personally, if I go to a live show I want to see someone sing,” says Pink, who is currently on a 50-date tour of Australia. “I don’t want to see miming. Live shows are live show. You gotta do live.

“You gotta be spontaneous. That’s why I love Bette Midler and Tina Turner � they’re funny, they talk. You have to do that.”

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, and her ex-husband Carey Hart recently visited Australia in attempt to get their romance back on track.

“It took us seven years to work it out,” the singer told Australia’s Down Under newspaper.

“We got married and I went on the road for two years. That’s about as long as we were married. It’s definitely hard.”

Britney Spears’ Dad Puts Up $1.5 Million To Continue As Her Conservator

There is no end in sight for the Conservatorship of Britney Jean Spears. On June 28, her father Jamie Spears filed a legal document certifying that he has obtained a $1.5 million bond to act as his daughter’s legal guardian. Why this bond was required this long after a judge put Britney under a conservatorship isn’t explained.

The bond is intended to protect the person under the Conservatorship � that would be Britney in this case � from having their assets looted, and RadarOnline.com has learned that the Conservatorship will continue at least until the end of 2009.

The European leg of The Circus Starring Britney Spears kicks off July 4 in Paris.
