NEW ORLEANS, LA --
Britney Spears returns to the arena circuit tonight in New Orleans, with “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” tour. And, according to her manager, Larry Rudolph, the trek will be nothing short of stunning.
“I’m glad that people are going to see her tonight in the way that they wanted to see her,” Larry told Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and “The Billy Bush Show.” “All that other stuff, the ‘Good Morning America’ stuff was great and it was an appetizer, but the entree is coming tonight.”
The pop singer kicks off her tour just after 7:30 PM local time at the New Orleans Arena tonight. And, the 30-city, 46-date trek, which runs through May 2, ending at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT, is expected to thrill Britney’s fans.
Britney’s show runs about 90 minutes and during that time, she will be whipping out a host of hit songs including “Womanizer” and “Circus,” and older hits like “…Baby One More Time,” and “I’m A Slave 4 U.”
Larry said Britney will be nothing less than the confident superstar she is when the pop princess takes to the stage tonight in New Orleans.
“She doesn’t really get nervous like [you would expect],” Larry told Billy. “She gets sort of that pre-show energy and, I wouldn’t even call it the jitters. She gets really, to use one of her album titles, she gets in ‘The Zone.’”
And, Larry said, all the Internet gossip suggesting Britney isn’t ready for the tour is just gossip. The pop star is back and better than ever.
“It’s so funny. I read some of these media reports and it’s just amazing to me how wrong some of these things are, especially some of the online things… You hear, ‘Is she ready? Is she gonna be able to pull it off?’ … She’s an incredibly hard worker. She’s back to work, she’s doing her thing. There’s no issue,” Larry told Billy. “Anything anybody has read or heard of that nature, somebody made it up.
“She’s been doing unbelievably well, she’s super focused, she’s in top form,” Larry continued. “This show is going to be anything that any Britney Spears show in the past has been and more. It is a giant mega-production. It is everything that anyone would ever expect of a Britney Spears show.”
When Britney takes the stage tonight in front of tens of thousands of fans, she will have two very special fans in the crowd. Larry confirmed to Billy that Britney’s boys – Sean Preston and Jayden James – will be watching their mother’s tour, for the first time.
“It’s the first time they’re gonna see momma on stage,” Larry said. “They came to ‘GMA’ and they saw that performance and they loved it and now they’re gonna see her in a giant arena with 16-17,000 people screaming. I think it’s going to be an interesting thing.”
