'Britney Spears To Wed Property Millionaire After Subway Shop Proposal'

Britney Spears' love life has reportedly become even more complicated with claims the singer is engaged to a multi-millionaire property developer who proposed - controversially – not in a Starbucks but in Subway.

Forget hunky back-up dancers – the new man in Brit's life is John Sundahl, a wealthly businessman who has apparently held a torch for the Womanizer star ever since they met at the height of her meltdown period.

Or at least that's the story being peddled by Sundhal's wacky 'personal pilot.'

"Britney and John used to date, but they reconnected after her show in New Jersey, and now they're engaged," 'Lance Chase' tells NY Daily News.

"He got down on one knee in a Subway sandwich shop in Santa Monica a week ago and proposed with a $4.5 million marquise-cut diamond that he bought at a Frankfurt jewelry store.

"They plan on getting married at his aunt's farm in Germany in six weeks. It's very hush-hush, even to the employees. He's even putting a $350K fence around the property."

Sundhal himself has been less forthcoming about the alleged engagement, saying only, "Britney doesn't want to do anything until the tour is over. She wants press for her tour and not for an engagement."

Brit's people have, not surprisingly, reponded to the story with a denial.

A rep for the singer says, "Britney is not engaged, she did not get proposed to at Subway last week - she is currently on tour - she is not getting married on a farm in Germany, she did not receive a $4.5 million marquise-cut diamond ring. Oh, and she has not been abducted by aliens either."

Lady Gaga About Quicksand

"It was awesome seeing the song change when she put her touches on it. I'm just really grateful that she loves the music and she's so supportive of me. She's a fan of my stuff and to write a song that she loves and to know she loves me as an artist, you can't ask for anything better than that. Britney's a real class act in terms of the way she handles herself in the media and embraces new artists. She's always really kind, I've always admired that about her." - Fab Magazine

Britney Spears' Tour Take: $24M In Three Weeks

Britney Spears' "Circus" tour made $24 million in its first three weeks on the road (from March 3 to March 24), according to concert grosses reported by Billboard.

By contrast, Britney's Circus album, which has sold more than 1 million copies in the U.S., has generated roughly $19 million since it was released in early December, proving once again that high ticket prices continue to make touring a more lucrative revenue stream for musicians, even in a recession.

Also noteworthy: not a dime went to major concert promoter Live Nation, since rival AEG Live is putting on the tour.

Britney Spears' Circus Hit By Credit Crunch? The show might not go on....

Britney Spears may not be able to extend her tour across Europe and Australia due to the poor credit climate, it has been claimed.

The pop princess - who is currently working her way across California - was meant to be taking her Big Top bonanza down under and to several other locations in Europe - at least if Papa Spears got his way.

Britney's dad Jamie has been meeting with lawyers to ensure that fans worldwide get to see his daughter in all her come back glory.

But the current financial climate could throw a spanner in the works.

"It hasn't yet been determined whether it's feasible to expand tours to the Europe or Australia legs," L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz tells People magazine.

He adds, "That will be determined in the future after everyone's seen the analysis, in terms of the economy and value of the dollar."

Britney To Testify In LA On Lawyer’s Behalf?

A lawyer who previously attempted to get Britney Spears out of her conservatorship has asked for the pop star to appear in court on his behalf, now that he has been targeted with a restraining order by the singer’s conservatorship.

Jon J. Eardley filed papers in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday asking that the pop star appear at an April 21 hearing in Los Angeles.

A judge previously granted the conservatorship’s request for a restraining order against Eardley, Britney’s former manager Sam Lutfi and ex-boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.

In his latest filing, Eardley suggests that because Spears is able to appear at several concerts in Los Angeles later this week, she is well enough to submit to a deposition, despite being under a conservatorship.

“If Britney Spears is well enough to put on two concerts in Los Angeles, she is certainly well enough to attend a trial where attorneys on her behalf have falsely accused Jon Eardley of harassment and elder abuse,” the filing reads.

Eardley’s legal team wants to question Spears on whether she authorized the lawyer “to take legal action on her behalf,” and whether he caused “her substantial emotional distress,” as has been alleged by Britney’s conservators.

If the pop star is not able to appear in court for the hearing, Eardley will ask a judge to require Spears to offer an oral deposition “at a location of her choosing.”

Britney Spears Confuses San Jose With Sacramento

Britney Spears continued her "crazy talk" this weekend by confusing the San Jose leg of her tour with the nearby town of Sacramento.

40 minutes into her set Britney stopped for a breather and yelled, "What's up Sacramento", before continuing on with her saucy circus-themed show.

The pop star and her camp travelled 90 miles from Sacramento - where she performed the night before - to make her Big Top debut in San Jose on Sunday.

Britney recently stormed off stage at a gig in Vancouver after accusing fans of smoking marijuana.

When the show ended, Britney urged her fans to ditch the drugs, telling them, "Thanks Vancouver. You were wonderful. Drive safe. Don't smoke weed!"

Her rep later blamed Brit's outburst on "poor ventilation", which caused a staff member to become ill.
